A Sunshine and rainbow craft to brighten up your day.
Sometimes I feel like crafting gives me energy. On days when I’m feeling down or tired, making a fun craft can brighten up my mood. Do you feel the same?
I made this happy little sunshine craft for just this reason! I can’t get enough rainbows these days it seems and I’m ok with it. Colourful things seem happy enough on their own, but for this one I wanted to add in the sunshine.

First I used a bowl and traced a line around it to make a circle for the sun. Then I cut small strips to be the sun rays.
The circle is painted yellow. I used a kwikstix paint stick. For the rays, I painted a combination of yellow and orangeĀ using acrylic paints.

Then I used a cardboard rectangle and loosely painted rainbow colours with acrylic paints. I blended in each colour with the next so the lines wouldn’t be super rigid.
I used a glue stick to secure the rays to the sun and the sun to the rainbow background.
Lastly, I drew the sweet little face using a paint pen so that I could keep the details clean.
